Zig-Zag and Back Lock Quickstep
Notes
The Zig-Zag and Back Lock is a figure that combines Steps 1-2 of the old
Quickstep Zig-Zag with Steps 1-4 of the (Man's) Back Lock. It is usually concluded with a Running Finish.
Both ISTD and IDTA syllabi specify that this combination be danced in its entirety. However, since our aim is to break each amalgamation into its smallest usable parts, we have listed the Zig-Zag into Back Lock, and the
Running Finish individually.

The Zig-Zag, Back Lock and Running Finish is an amalgamation that is listed in the 'Additional Figures' section of the ISTD syllabus. This is because it is not a required figure for examination. For the sake of competition and choreography, it can be used just like any other figure.

The Zig-Zag, Back Lock and Running Finish is listed under 'Additional Figures' in The Quickstep and Basic Principles by Guy Howard. It is not specified at which level it is to be danced.
