Checked Lock Quickstep

Notes
The Checked Lock is a variation on the Forward Lock which involves halting after the first four steps and taking the following figure backwards in the opposite direction. The Checked Lock was listed in the Named Variations
(Gold) of every edition of Alex Moore's Revised Technique up until the 8th Edition of 1976. From the 10th Edition onwards, the Checked Lock is listed as a possible exit variaton in all figures ending with a Forward Lock action, including the Fishtail, Four Quick Run and Six Quick Run. The Checked Lock is one of ten figures to have been removed from ISTD syllabus.

Exit Figures
Originally, the Checked Lock was intended to exit into figures beginning with the Man's LF Backwards (Lady's RF Forwards), such as the Running Finish or Back Lock. Today, it is written to take an extra Bridge Step so as to exit into a Four Quick Run, a V6 or a Six Quick Run.
