Reverse Pivot Turn Quickstep
Notes
The Reverse Pivot Turn is the original form of the Quickstep Reverse Pivot., and the Reverse Turning equivalent of the Natural Pivot Turn. The Reverse Pivot Turn was listed in the Associate Syllabus (Bronze) of Alex Moore's Revised Technique up until the 6th Edition of 1966, when it was replaced with the aforementioned Reverse Pivot. The Reverse Pivot Turn is one of ten figures to have been removed from ISTD syllabus.
The Reverse Pivot Turn is a fine example of Ballroom's origins in social dancing, and as such should be viewed more historically than competitively. It consists of the following:
1-3 Foxtrot Reverse Turn (SSS) begun facing LOD and turning 1/2 to Left –
into – Reverse Pivot (S) turning 1/2 to Left to face LOD again.
