Open Telemark Quickstep
Notes
The Open Telemark is taken from the Waltz Syllabus and adapted for use in the Quickstep, where it is featured as a Silver figure in the IDTA syllabus.
As there is no Promenade Position in the current ISTD syllabus, the Open Telemark and its exit figures are only available to non-syllabus competitors.
It should be noted, however, that up until the 8th Edition,[1976] the
Quickstep Open Telemark was part of Alex Moore's Revised Technique. It is one of ten figures to have been removed from the ISTD Quickstep syllabus.
Timing
The Quickstep and Basic Principles lists two possible timings: (SSS) and (SQQ). Though not listed the Open Telemark after a Reverse Pivot could be danced (QQS), as noted with the Closed Telemark.
Exit Figures
The Quickstep and Basic Principles lists the following exit figures:
Passing Natural Turn, Tipple Chassé to Left, Tipsy to Left. or
Four Quick Run from PP.
