Tipsy to Left

Notes
The Tipsy to Left is a natural turning Rapid Chassé action, used either to quickly link to figure such as 2-4 Back Lock, 2-4 Tipple Chassé to Right or the V6; or in sequence with the Tipsy to Right.

History of the Tipple Chassé
The development of the Tipsy to Left is somewhat hazy. Tipsy to Right has been a staple of the Revised Technique from about the 4th Edition onwards, under the designation of the Tipsy. The Tipsy to Left is only mentioned once in Alex Moore's Popular Variations (Quickstep Variation 
No. #43). At some point between the 8th Edition and the (current) 
10th Edition of the Ballroom Technique, the Tipsy was renamed and expanded to include both the Tipsy to Right and Tipsy to Left.

Bridge Step into Tipsy to Left
In both the Ballroom Technique and Quickstep and Basic Principles, the
Tipsy to Left is written as beginning with the Man's LF to Side (Lady's 
RF Side).

However, figures such as the Progressive Chassé, the Forward Lock, the Running Finish, the Fishtail, the Four Quick Run, the V6, the Six Quick Run, and the Rumba Cross require a Bridge Step in order to connect to the 
Tipsy to Left.

In order to simplify choreographing, we have made a separate Domino for the Bridge Step into Tipsy to Left.

Shape
Both Technique books also indicate multiple possibilities on how to shape the Tipsy to Left:
-(Man) Straight, Straight, Left Side Up (ISTD)(IDTA)
-(Man) Straight, Straight, Left Side Down (IDTA)
-(Man) Straight, Left Side Down, Left Side Down (ISTD)

Tipsy to Left from PP
The Tipsy to Left may commence in Promenade Position. The Bridge Step would then be taken Man's RF/Lady's LF fwd in CBMP and PP. This variation is only available to syllabus IDTA and Open level competitors.
