The Feather Ending is part of the Feather Step family outlined by Alex Moore in  the Ballroom Technique. It is defined as a Feather Step with the first step taken in PP. 

Checked Feather Ending
The Feather Ending can be checked Outside Partner into Top Spin or Outside Swivel.

A note on Syllabus Amalgamations
In both the ISTD and the IDTA syllabi, the Feather Ending is listed in conjunction with the Open Telemark and Open Telemark – (Passing) Natural Turn and Outside Swivel. 
This makes very good sense when writing a technique book, because the Feather Ending can then be examined from two different starting positions. The drawback is that it makes these two entry combinations appear to be the only ones permissible. Since we are an atlas of ballroom steps and not a technique book, our aim is to break each amalgamation into its smallest usable parts.
