Methods of Preceding the Basic Weave
The Basic Weave is written to follow either Underturned 1-4 Reverse Turn or
1-4 Reverse Wave, both of which end facing Diagonal Center against Line of Dance.
In addition to these, the Ballroom Technique outlines several alternative entries:
1. 1-4 Hover Telemark with the first step of the Basic Weave taken on Toe.
2. At a corner: a Checked Back Feather.
3. At a corner: a Fallaway Reverse and underturned Slip Pivot.
These alternative amalgamations may only be danced at their respective level.
The Checked Feather Finish
Just as with the Weave from PP, the Quick Natural Weave from PP, the
Natural Weave, Bounce Fallaway with Weave Ending, the Basic Weave includes a Feather Finish. This Feather Finish may be checked to follow with Top Spin or Outside Swivel.
