Types of Rock Turn
The Rock Turn alone consists of a Right Lunge Step (S), LF Rocks
(QQS), and a Closed Finish (QQS). The IDTA syllabus also permits
1-4 Rock Turn to be extended with RF Rocks or a Reverse Pivot.
Natural Promenade Turn - Rock Turn
The Natural Promenade Turn to Rock Turn consists of steps 1-4 of the Natural Promenade Turn (which includes a Right Lunge Step) (SQQS),
LF Rocks (QQS), and a Closed Finish (QQS).
ISTD lists this combination as Bronze; although its components are Bronze and Pre-Bronze respectively, the IDTA lists the combination as Silver.
Exit Backwards
As with all Closed Finishes, the Closed Promenade may be followed by
Back Corté, LF Rock, or Outside Swivel (Methods 1&2).
