In our 1966 edition of The Revised Technique by Alex Moore, the Closed Impetus is listed only under Foxtrot and Quickstep - under its original name Impetus Turn. The change of name from Impetus Turn to Closed Impetus and its inclusion in the current Waltz syllabus suggests its place in the standard canon has evolved over time.

The Waltz and Basic Principles by Guy Howard (2011). It is not specified at which level it is to be danced.
